Uwe is the destroyer of everything good!
Also i can take the flame fest, but nobody knows what Guild Wars is. I can walk down the street and ask 100 people in my neighborhood if they know what Guild Wars is and they would say "no". But if i asked them what WoW was alot of people would say "yes". WoW has commercials, trading cards, tv spots (south park), ect... Guild Wars has a cult following and thats it.

As much as it pains me to say this, Uwe Boll would actually be a good choice. As crappy as his movies are, they somehow make money. That would mean ANET would make money, which would be a good thing. Personally, I would rather see Guild Wars books come out. Cheaper to make and more likely to make ANET more money.

^^ lol a sub-plot called "What happens to Wammos who Leerrroooyy"
With Lord of the Rings (the original books) only having a "cult following" before the movies were made - I don't think it would be a problem if a GW movie trilogy was made on the same scope and scale as LotR trilogy. I do see it being a flop if it is made along the lines of the Doom2 movie - yuk -.-

you cant be seriously comparing LotR with GW.
GW has yet to even attain "cult" status. Even if it DID LotR would STILL be in another league.
edit...wait you say it as if "cult" was a bad thing. Everyone of my generation knew of LotR, LotR may not have had a movie or a game to its name till late in its life but that this not a sign of unpopularity. its a sign of true respect LotR influenced more artists than could possibly be imagined and will remain in general culture loooong after GW has been replaced by the "next big mmo".

Yes, lets have Mr Jackson be the director!
YAY! I love movies, I think with careful planning, a good director, and a very good script writer, Guild Wars has potential to become a very good and entertaining Movie. Definitely not trilogy, probably have to talk about all the worlds (not forgetting all the Gods) such as elona, tyria, people of rin, krytans et cetera. and work from each worlds into the grand finale. I especially love to see some story told about Devona (one of her quotes, beside CHARGE! HAHAHA, is Father look down upon me and guide my hand) and her father, probably Little Thom and Stefan are once her father's comrade in arms. She could have been long time friends of Cynn. While we may travel back to a young Master Togo tutoring Jamei, Mhenlo whom all started out from Shing Jea Monastery. on the other side of the world, the long feuding Luxon and Kurziks (maybe some hints of why they are forever fighting), would love to see the entrance of the siege turtles in the movies, and some love story of Vasburg and Zu Heltzer. Pwoah, I do make myself over excited. There's just so many story hidden inside each character in Guild Wars, for instant, Margrid the Sly and her sister, and what is the significant with the name of Master of Whisper.
Director: Peter Jackson (my vote, i think he can do a wondeful job with this)
Screenplay: The Plot... *edit Neil Gaiman.
Animation Director: Stefen Fangmeier
The Worlds:
Tyria, The Wild, Shiverpeaks, Dungeons, Ring of Fire, Elona, Raisu Palace,Kaineng City, Ascalon, Kryta, Orrs, The Jade Sea, The Echovald Forest, Surmia, Gate of Komalie (??), Maguuma Jungle, Realm of Torments, The Desolations, Lion's Arch, The Underworld, The Dragon's Lair
The Gods
Balthazar, Dwayna, Grenth, Lyssa, Melandru
The Clans:
Zaishen, Kurziks, Luxon, Krytans, Surmians, Rin, Dwarfs of Shiverpeaks, Istani, Kournans, Vabbian, Junundu, The White Mantles, The Centaur, The Grawls, The Seer, The Mursaats, The Jade Brotherhood, The Seaguards, The Sunspears, The Lightbringers, more....
The Academy:
Sardelac Sanitarium, Nolani Academy, Shing Jea Monastery, more....
The Characters:
Shiro, Minister Cho, Komir, Varesh Ossa, Abaddon, Prince Rurik, King Adelbern, Master Togo, Mhenlo, Argo, Panaku, Seaguard Eli, Headmaster Vhang, Kai Ying, Kisai, Emi, Mai, Nika, Panaku, Aeson, Chiyo, Professor Gai, Aurora, Daeman, Yuun, Zho, Danika, Lukas, Jamei. Redemptor Karl. Seaguard Gita, Sister Tai, Taya, Brutus, Sheena, Su, Erys Vasburg, Lo Sha, Seaguard Hala, Lina, Alesia, Reyna, Devona, Evennia, Vizier Khilbron, Markis, Saidra, King Jalis Ironhammer, Lich Lord, Koss, Dunkoro, Melonni, Acolyte Jin, Acolyte Sousoke, Tahlkora, Olias, Zenmai, Zhed Shadowhoof, Magrid the Sly, Master of Whisper, Livia, Goren, Norgu, General Morgahn, Razah, Ogden Stonehealer, Vekk, Gwen, Xandra, Kahmu, Livia, Hayda, Pyre Fierceshot, Anton, Jora, Little Thom, Stefan, Aidan, Claude, Eve, Dunham, Cynn, Orion, Palawa Joko, more.... can't remember them all now.
oh, don't mind if you would, do some casting for the roles... hehehe, and the monsters, off course would be CG. probably need voice actors for those.
The Big Question, who will play the hero that is the player?

there busy as it is dont make them make a movie. It would be cool but it will be extremely expensive and just think no ones really going to watch it. Most stuff just belongs in the game anyway and it wouldnt be right in the movie, lol ressing shrines, dp and even the actual skills such as healing wouldn't make any sense.
on a side note who ever mentioned pokemon isn't right really. Pokemon is an anime and thats why it would work as a film. Basically it was a cartoon anyway and they just extended it. Also i dont wanna be picky but Pokemon games arent made by nintendo but its GAME FREAK. lol just some little info.
the lord of the rings thing aswell makes no sense. LOTR was already a well known book and the film was based upon the books. THEEEN the games came after which were based upon the fimls. it wouldn't work the other way around. Just think if there was a LOTR game first and then they made the film after this, it would of been weird.

best actor choice for rurik lol.
but if they found a good producer, director, and cast of actors they could punchout a really good polot line for it, I think it would make a really good movie only if they spend a year or more makeing it. not like doom which took like 6 months to shoot start to finish and was really bad.

i really like the idea of a Guild Wars Movie, but this would be movies, which would be totally unmakeable as pure realistic looking Films naturally.
Alot of Computer technics would have to be used, alot more, that the movie weould use realistic things, so i personally thinks, its alot better, to make such movie as 3D render movie, like FF7 Advent Children (awesome movie XD, simple cult as the game itself)
When someone would make also a GW Movie of this Style, it should be created by Square Enix and their Video Studios ect. which made FF7AC.
Also imo GW has so much Content, the Movies would surely end in like 5-6 party, like the Star Wars Saga
I. Guild Wars - Chronicles of Orr
II. Guild Wars - Spiritual Revenge
III. Guild Wars - Shining Golden Sun
IV. Guild Wars - Rise of the Destruction
V. Guild Wars - A new Timeage has begun
VI. Guild Wars - Arrive of the Ancient Dragons
VII. Guild Wars .....
every chapter could have an own movie ..and boom we would have a GW-Saga similar to the SW-Saga of easily over 3 movies
=====
Hmm, in kind of a realistic looking film ,with real actors, i think it should b only a a movie saga about the adventures of Gwen, Devona, mhenlo, cynn, aidan, eve ect. and the other hero npc's
Actors I would find cool for them:
Mhenlo > Chow Yun-Fat
Cynn > Scarlett Johansson
Aidan > Tom Cruise (looks awesome with a full beard, just perfect for Aidan XD)
Eve > Jennifer Love Hewitt
Devona > Jessica Alba
Gwen Child >
Gwen Adult >
Jora >
Ogden > John Rhys-Davies
Dunkoro >
Tahlkora > Halle Berry
Goren >
Livia >
Vekk >
Kahmu > Will Smith
Melonni >
Xandra > Kate Hudson
Hayda >
Morgahn > Samuel L. Jackson
Jin >
Sousuke > Owen Wilson
Zhed >
Razah >
Norgu > Eddie Murphy
Master ... > Morgan Freeman
Olias >
Anton > James Marsden
female Sin Hero XD > Anne Hathaway
Koss > Cuba Gooding Jr.
Margrid >
hmm, more ideas i havent atm for the rest, maybe other fidn some nice actors for the characters i left out

Well it's concise and to the point I guess. Please take note of Phoenix's post...more detail = win.
A Guild Wars Movie would totally rock, but only if Jeremy Soule is involved for the soundtrack.

John Rhys-Davies is typecast as a dwarf, lol. With Samuel L.J. the movie couldn't fail and Morgan Freeman would be cool as MoW also. The others just made me lol especially Eddie Murphy, he does look good in a fatsuit doesn't he? ^^
